Ultrasonic cutters
Ultrasonic cutters (or ultrasonic knives) are modern machines that use high-frequency vibrations for precise cutting and processing of materials. Using a piezoelectric transducer (also called a sonotrode), they generate ultrasonic oscillations that transfer energy to the blade, enabling clean cuts with minimal pressure. These devices are particularly suitable for synthetic fabrics, non-woven materials, thermoplastic films, or strips, where conventional blades may cause fraying or edge damage. They utilize technology that simultaneously “seals” the edges of the material during cutting, minimizing fraying, preventing fibers from unraveling, and producing a smoother, more durable result. Integrated generators and control systems allow adjustment of frequency and power according to the material type, ensuring optimal efficiency and cutting quality. Ultrasonic cutters are especially valuable in industries such as hygiene product manufacturing, technical textiles, packaging films, and synthetic straps. By using ultrasonic technology, productivity is increased while waste is reduced compared to traditional mechanical cutting machines.
